How to make homemade rice pudding dessert? Let’s try to surprise the family with a recipe coming across the ocean, new and delicious, having an amazing taste. It’s homemade rice pudding dessert, it’s a Meditteranean recipe called (Riz Bi Haleeb) It is super delicious and made with only 3 main ingredients, Rice, Milk, and Sugar. It’s served as dessert and even as breakfast and snack.
HOW TO MAKE THE LEBANESE RICE PUDDING DESSERT?
This dessert is simple to make. As I mentioned above it takes 3 main ingredients, milk, rice, and sugar as well as orange blossoms water for magical flavoring.
I always start by washing before cooking the rice until the water is almost dry (1 cup of rice takes 3 cups of water. We have to leave it on low heat for about 30 or more minutes to boil. Don’t let the water to completely dry but becomes thick and starchy (as shown in the photo below).
Before the rice boil of 4 minutes, prepare another bowl to make the new mix.
Put in the bowl (6 cups of water) mix it with 2 cups of powder milk then stir, add sugar ( 1.5 cups of sugar), add (2 tbsp of corn starch), add (1 tbsp of orange blossoms water) Stir the ingredients very well until all the particles dissolved completely.
When the rice is done as described above! move it aside and pour the mixture into the rice pot and stir to cook for 10 more minutes until the pudding thickens up (as shown in the photo below).
Don’t forget this: (stirring occasionally).
Final Step 4
Done? remove and pour into molds or serving bowls immediately. Let it cool or sit for 25 minutes before putting it in the fridge.
STORING AND SERVING THE RICE PUDDING
Before storing in the fridge, cover with plastic food wrap and store for up to 3 hours before serving, you can add some ground pistachios if you prefer but it is optional. Who doesn’t like it with pistachios?
Then, it’s ready to serve. enjoy it, (sahten) means good health.

- 6 cups of water
- 2 cups of milk
- 1.5 cup sugar (or more, taste for preference)
- 2 tbsp corn starch
- 2 tbsp orange blossoms water or rose water
- Ground Pistachio (optional for garnishing)
